Glasgow company ready to test swine flu vaccine |

Scottish government and venture-backed start-ups such as Glasgow based Vitrology are readying themselves to test the new swine-flu vaccines in case the recent outbreak escalates into a larger emergency. In preparation for such a scenario, the world health authorities have created a seed stock of a vaccine against the swine flu, which could be pushed into production should the number of cases jump significantly. The first stage is for the World Health Authority to identify, and then make safe, the virus so a vaccine can be grown in the laboratory.
